Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC has invested Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, as the Patron of the FRSC Special Marshals in the state, as part of efforts to strengthen road safety governance and deepen collaboration with the state government.

The investiture ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Lokoja, also witnessed the donation of 10 electric patrol motorcycles by the governor to the Corps to enhance traffic management, law enforcement and emergency response operations across Kogi State.

Kogi occupies a strategic position in Nigeria’s road network and serves as a major transit corridor linking the northern and southern parts of the country, making road safety a critical concern for motorists and commuters.

Receiving the motorcycles on behalf of the Corps, FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, described the donation as a strategic investment that would significantly improve the operational effectiveness of the Corps in the state.

He said the investiture reflected the growing partnership between the FRSC and the Kogi State Government in promoting safer roads and protecting lives.

Governor Ododo, while speaking during the ceremony, dedicated the honour to President Bola Tinubu, acknowledging what he described as the President’s visionary leadership, unwavering support for the FRSC and commitment to strengthening institutions responsible for safeguarding the lives of Nigerians.

The governor said his administration remained committed to improving road safety and supporting initiatives aimed at reducing crashes and enhancing emergency response across the state.

In his remarks, the Corps Marshal commended Ododo for accepting the responsibility of serving as Patron of the FRSC Special Marshals in Kogi State, describing the governor’s support as a demonstration of exemplary leadership.

He noted that the donation of the electric patrol motorcycles would strengthen traffic control, improve enforcement activities and enable quicker responses to road traffic emergencies, particularly along Kogi’s busy highways.
