President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited DIL, Aliko Dangote, has said the Federal Government’s ongoing fiscal, monetary and regulatory reforms are beginning to deliver improved macroeconomic stability, stronger economic activity and renewed investor confidence.
Dangote said the reforms were creating a more resilient business environment, stimulating industrial productivity and providing greater opportunities for businesses to expand.
“The economic reforms being implemented by the Federal Government are beginning to yield tangible results. We are witnessing improved economic activity, stronger investor confidence, increased industrial productivity, and a more resilient business environment,” he said.
He said the emerging gains from the reform agenda demonstrated the importance of policy consistency and market-driven measures in achieving sustainable economic growth and long-term prosperity.
Dangote commended the Federal Government for its courage and determination in implementing what he described as necessary reforms for economic transformation, while acknowledging that such measures could come with initial challenges.
“While every reform process comes with initial challenges, the benefits are increasingly evident in stronger economic indicators, improved business confidence, and renewed investor interest in Nigeria,” he said.
According to him, the reforms have created a more favourable operating environment for large-scale manufacturing and industrial businesses, which he described as critical to economic diversification, job creation, foreign exchange generation and national competitiveness.
He said government measures aimed at improving efficiency, promoting investment, enhancing transparency and supporting domestic production were helping to provide a framework for industrial expansion.
Dangote specifically highlighted the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex, saying the facility was benefiting from a policy environment focused on strengthening local refining capacity, reducing dependence on imports, improving energy security and promoting domestic value addition.
“The progress being recorded at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex is closely linked to a policy environment that encourages investment, supports domestic industrialisation, and promotes self-sufficiency,” he said.
He said the refinery’s growing production capacity and expanding export footprint were contributing to Nigeria’s economic recovery by generating foreign exchange earnings, creating employment opportunities and strengthening local supply chains.
According to him, the developments were also helping to position Nigeria as a major energy and manufacturing hub in Africa.
Dangote said the experience of the refinery demonstrated how private-sector investment, when supported by consistent government policies, could unlock significant opportunities for national economic development.
“Our vision has always been to support Nigeria’s economic development through transformative investments. Today, we are witnessing how the combination of private-sector commitment and decisive government policies can unlock unprecedented opportunities for national growth,” he said.
Reaffirming DIL’s commitment to the Federal Government’s economic agenda, Dangote said the group would continue to invest in strategic sectors, drive innovation, promote industrial development and create sustainable employment opportunities.
He expressed optimism that sustained reforms, policy consistency and stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors would further accelerate economic growth, attract foreign direct investment and strengthen Nigeria’s position as one of Africa’s most attractive investment destinations.
“Nigeria is on the path to becoming one of the world’s leading industrial and economic powers. With continued policy consistency, robust private-sector participation, and investment-led growth, the future of our economy is exceptionally bright,” Dangote said.
