The June 2026 monthly report of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company NNPC Limited has shown that the company generated ₦4.389 trillion in revenue and recorded a profit after tax of ₦535 billion, despite operational disruptions that affected crude oil production during the month.
According to the report, statutory payments made by the company between January and June 2026 stood at ₦6.286 trillion, while crude oil and condensate production averaged 1.72 million barrels per day (mmbopd) in June, slightly lower than the 1.73 mmbopd recorded in May.
The report attributed the decline in production to operational disruptions, facility integrity issues and subsurface challenges across several assets. It noted, however, that output was partly supported by increased production following the completion of the Assa-Rumuekpe project and the 28-inch TNP Turnaround Maintenance programme.
Natural gas production rose to 7,841 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d), the highest level in the past 12 months, while gas sales increased to 4,970 mmscf/d in June from 4,921 mmscf/d in May. Crude oil and condensate sales also climbed sharply to 28.23 million barrels during the month.
On major infrastructure projects, NNPC said the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline had reached 98 per cent completion, with final River Niger crossing tie-in works ongoing to ensure first gas delivery in August 2026. The Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline was reported to be 94 per cent complete, with collaboration continuing to accelerate construction and installation activities aimed at delivering gas to Abuja later this year.
The company also highlighted several corporate social responsibility initiatives undertaken through the NNPC Foundation during the month.
It disclosed that a state-of-the-art 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine was commissioned and handed over to the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Dala, Kano State, on June 4. The facility, which includes chillers, an uninterrupted power supply system and backup power, provided free MRI scans to 40 patients during the commissioning, improving access to advanced diagnostic healthcare services in the region.
The Foundation also partnered with Pan-Atlantic University to host the second Symposium on Energy and Sustainable Environmental Communication in Nigeria, bringing together academics and communication professionals to discuss climate change, environmental sustainability and Nigeria’s energy transition agenda.
In addition, the Foundation conducted its 2026 Batch B, Stream I Basic Financial Literacy Programme for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), reaching 81,748 corps members virtually across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The programme has now trained a cumulative total of 1,324,984 corps members on financial discipline, savings, budgeting and investment.
NNPC noted that all production, sales and financial figures remain provisional and are subject to reconciliation with relevant stakeholders.
